Early in March, we announced that Zebrajobs is organizing the Africa Online Job Fair (AOJF), which was due to be held on June 2 for a 1-month period.
However, we are happy to inform you that Zebrajobs has decided to postpone the AOJF to November 3, 2010 due to a high demand from employers to move the date towards the last quarter of the year (fall) where majority of recruitment is done within the companies/organizations, as well as to provide sufficient time for job seekers to prepare for the event. This demand proves that this upcoming event is already surpassing the expected success!!!
Top Companies are eager to spend their valuable time and money to meet potential candidates like you to satisfy their hiring needs in Africa.
While the AOJF has been postponed, the over-all strategy of the 2010 Africa Online Job Fair Campaign will continue to unfold. We believe that the process in which we engaged, the discussions that transpired, and the contacts and partnerships that we developed around the event, will prove to be tremendously valuable as we move forward.
These include partnerships with the Global Health Council (GHC) where Zebrajobs will be sponsoring the GHC’s Career Connections session at the upcoming 37th Annual International Conference on Global Health; partnerships with InsideNGO where Zebrajobs will support the 2010 annual HR member meeting; as well as partnerships with the Corporate Council on Africa, the Society of International Development and a multitude of membership associations and organizations including Africa Alumni LLC (www.africaalumni.com) and The Association of Professional Societies in East Africa (APSEA) (www.apsea.or.ke). All this promotion as well as the creation of such valuable relationships is an effort to bring you the career opportunities you are seeking for.
Following last year’s experience many job seekers have extended their valuable comments that even though they attended the online job fair they felt that they were not as prepared and a bit unsure about the online environment. Hence, the postponement of the event we believe will meet a lot of your demands in terms of time to prepare yourselves.
Respectively, on our side to help you beat those minor obstacles of uncertainty, in the upcoming few months until November 3, 2010 we will do our part in making sure that we provide you with complete guidance to help you be better prepared for that significantly important day. We will send you helpful guides and as the opening day approaches, we will help you prepare and organize yourselves by holding video based orientation sessions.
Meanwhile, we urge you to organize yourselves by preparing more than one CV that will be applicable to several/different jobs that you might be interested to apply for. Those of you who have not fully completed your registration by uploading your CV etc please complete your registration so that Employers may have a comprehensive access to your data.
To those of you who have already made plans and have engaged yourself in preparation for the event, on behalf of the Zebrajobs team, I would like to take this moment to apologize for the postponement, but we intend to make the Africa Online Job Fair coming up on November 3rd even more spectacular and we sincerely hope you can join us then.
